Sulaymaniyah – July 27, 2025 – The Scientific Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders (SCADD) met with Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali, President of the University of Sulaymaniyah, to sign an academic cooperation agreement aimed at building professional capacity in special education, autism services, and related clinical fields across the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Abu Dalhoum, Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Mohammad Iqneibi, Director of Business Development and Marketing; and Dr. Kani Osman, SCADD Kurdistan Program Director.
As one of the Kurdistan Region’s leading higher education institutions, the University of Sulaymaniyah plays a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce. This collaboration marks a significant step toward equipping graduates from special education, psychology, and allied disciplines with internationally recognized qualifications in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Occupational Therapy (OT), and other evidence-based practices.

This forward-looking agreement aligns with SCADD’s internationally recognized training model, which combines academic excellence with supervised clinical application. By embedding global certification standards within local university programs, both parties aim to ensure graduates are ready to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of children with autism and other developmental conditions.
“Equipping our graduates with internationally recognized skills will directly enhance the quality of services available in Kurdistan,” said Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali.

The partnership will focus on co-developing curricula, implementing supervised practicum opportunities, and launching pilot programs that prepare students for certification through International boards in the fields of Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech Pathology, and Occupational Therapy.
